Hapoel Jerusalem has officially moved to the next stage in its bid to obtain a permanent EuroLeague license. The club announced that EuroLeague CEO Chus Bueno has informed them that their application has been accepted for further consideration. "We are pleased to announce that we have officially taken the next step in the process of obtaining a permanent EuroLeague license (franchise). We will continue to work with great determination and make every possible effort to make Hapoel Jerusalem a permanent member of the EuroLeague," the club stated in a press release.

This summer, Hapoel Jerusalem significantly strengthened its roster with the additions of Shake Milton, Kenneth Lofton Jr., David Roddy, and Jaleen Smith. They also welcomed former Monaco coach Sasa Obradovic. The Israeli team is currently competing in the EuroCup this season, in the same group as Le Mans, and aims to win the trophy as a direct pathway to the EuroLeague.
